Louisville Day 3
We seemed to take it a little easier today - not as much walking as yesterday. My dad and I got to the show around 9 and walked around for a little bit, and then went to a seminar about car air conditioning, which went until 11:30. It was really informative and the speaker was really good, and actually made the boring topic of car air conditioning pretty interesting. And now I think I understand a little bit better the basics of air conditioning units.
After the seminar, we grabbed something to eat and walked all around the show to see the cars in the areas of the fairgrounds that we didn't get to yesterday. There were definitely more cars today than yesterday; the picture of the field I have above shows the overflow of cars that couldn't fit into the main area. This area was much emptier yesterday.
To help people get around the huge fairgrounds, a fleet of shuttles meander throughout. My dad and I took a ride to take a break from walking and to be able to see a lot of the cars in a short amount of time. It was pretty nice and relaxing, and after two loops around, we disembarked and continued with the rest of our day at the show on foot.
For dinner, we went to the Cardinal Cafe, which is the restaurant right next door to our hotel. My dad and I split a (huge) margarita which was really good, nice and sweet and not too strong. A few years ago, it was in this restaurant where I asked for a dessert coffee with Kahlua. As a 16 or 17 year old, I didn't know Kahlua was alcoholic, of course. It just sounded cool.
After that, we went back to the fairgrounds and walked around and saw some cars we had not seen before. After a little bit of that, my dad was hungry again, and we went back to the hotel (mind you, the hotel is only a 7-10 minute walk from the fairgrounds) and I quickly looked for a dessert place on yelp.com, remembering the success I had finding a nice restaurant on there last night. I found Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen which turned out to be excellent. I'd definitely recommend this place for anyone in the Louisville area looking for ice cream or any kind of pie for dessert.
We drove back to the hotel, and are now winding down from the long day, and getting ready for one last day at the show.
Thus ends Day 3.
